Frequently asked questions

What is Gachidan?

A platform that lets you compare proposals from multiple licensed Korean appraisal firms for inheritance or gift tax purposes, and choose the one you prefer. We do not assign or recommend a specific firm — you compare and select.

Is it free for clients?

Yes. Posting a request, comparing, and selecting are always free. The appraisal fee is settled directly with the firm you select; the platform never takes a per-deal cut.

Why don't fees vary much between firms?

Appraisal fees follow a government-published schedule (0.8–1.2× of the base fee), so there is no extreme price competition. Firms compete on speed, expertise, and the assigned appraiser instead.

Is an appraisal always beneficial for taxes?

Not necessarily. It depends on the property, deductions, and future sale plans. Use the tax simulator to compare scenarios, and confirm with a licensed tax accountant.

How do appraisal firms join?

After credential verification, approved firms and offices participate via a flat monthly subscription. There is no per-deal or success-based charge.

How do I verify an appraisal report?

Reports stored on Gachidan carry a verification code and SHA-256 hash so you can confirm they are genuine and untampered.
